Not gonna lie I'm starting to get that sinking feeling every time I'm crawling along SZR in rush hour because the A6 has developed this little stutter when it shifts from second to third and it's the kind of thing that you just know in your gut isn't going to fix itself with a software reset, I rang the dealership to get a ballpark figure and the service advisor actually laughed and said "let's just say it's not a cheap conversation" which didn't exactly fill me with confidence so here I am doing the midnight forum scroll trying to figure out if there's anyone in this city who really understands the DSG box without treating it like a sealed black box that just gets swapped out for a reman unit at eye watering cost, I saw a few older threads where people mentioned places in Al Quoz that do proper Audi gearbox repair and transmission service including mechatronic rebuilds and clutch pack replacements which is exactly the kind of granular work I'm hoping to find because a full replacement just isn't on the cards right now, so I guess what I'm asking is has anyone here actually had a transmission specialist open up one of these units and fix the internal gremlins successfully and if so how long did it take and did the problem actually stay fixed because I'm really not trying to become a regular in the workshop waiting room if I can help it.
