Looking at a used Ghibli in Abu Dhabi, is a PPI really worth it or am I just being pa Alright so I found a 2017 Ghibli S that's priced pretty attractively at a small dealer near Mussafah and I went to see it yesterday and it looked stunning in the showroom with the red leather and the carbon trim but I know these cars have a bit of a reputation for electrical quirks and that ZF gearbox can be a bit of a lottery if the previous owner didn't keep up with the fluid changes which let's be honest a lot of people don't, the sales guy was nice enough and said the car has a full service history but the booklet looked a little too clean if you know what I mean and he was a bit vague when I asked about the last major service and whether the variators have ever been touched, I'm trying to be smart about this and not let the sound of that twin turbo V6 cloud my judgment so I started digging around for someone who can actually give me an unbiased look underneath all that Italian styling and I came across a page for https:exoticautoservices.ae/maserati/maserati-pre-purchase-inspection-abu-dhbai which seems to lay out exactly what they check on these specific models including the suspension bushings and the cam cover leaks that are apparently super common on the V6, but I'm still on the fence about whether spending the extra cash on an inspection is overkill for a car that's not exactly a six figure supercar or if it's the best few hundred dirhams I'll ever spend to avoid buying a very pretty money pit, anyone actually gone through with a PPI on a Maserati here and had it save them from a bad decision? |
